Le Domaine HAMELIN
Our vines extend over an area of 38 hectares.
They are located in three municipalities: Poinchy, Beines and Lignorelles.
The Domaine’s production is summed up in 4 white Burgundy vintages:
Petit Chablis (AOC)
For a total surface area of 9.95 ha, cultivated around the village of Lignorelles, on the edge of the Chablis lands.
The soil is clay-limestone.
The average annual production is 580 hl.
Chablis (AOC)
For a total surface area of 19.40 ha, operated in the three municipalities named above.
Among these vines, in the Chablis appellation area, there remain a few old vines (1 ha) aged 70 years and over.
When the year permits, a special vintage is produced (Chablis “Vieilles Vignes”).
The subsoil is generally limestone, limestone (Portlandian).
The average annual production is 1125 hl.
Chablis 1er Cru “Beauroy” (AOC)
For an area of 3.90 ha, located on the hillsides facing south, opposite Lake Beines.
The average annual production is 220 hl.
Chablis 1er Cru “Vau-Ligneau” (AOC)
For a total surface area of 3.50 ha, located in the commune of Beines.
This vine is grown in the Vaux de Long Valley.
It stretches over a steep hillside, 200 metres long.
The average annual production is 200 hl.
Its subsoil is provided with a limestone called Kimmeridgian, giving all the finesse and structure of a premier cru.
The Estate employs 10 people year-round.
The harvest is picked manually (10%) and mechanically.
The total annual harvest of the Domaine is 2200 hl.
The wines are aged in vats until they are bottled.
100% of the harvest is bottled (around 280,000 bottles).
